Robert T. Osterthaler - President and Chief Executive Officer

Mr. Robert Tipton (Tip) Osterthaler became President and CEO of AMERICOM Government Services in December, 2006. AMERICOM GOVERNMENT SERVICES, Inc. (AGS) is an independent corporation and wholly owned subsidiary of SES AMERICOM.  During his tenure at AGS, the business has been transformed from a product oriented sales channel into an end-to-end satellite solutions company focused on the needs of its US government clients.  In 2008, AGS won the largest government contract ever awarded to SES, with a total value of over $286 million.  In 2008, AGS also negotiated an innovative contract with the U.S. Air Force to host a government operated payload on board a commercial spacecraft.

From 1998 until 2006, Tip was a Senior Vice President at Science Applications International Corporation (SAIC), a large systems, solutions and technical services company serving the needs of the US government.  His last assignment at SAIC was Deputy General Manager of the Strategies, Simulation and Training Business Unit, a 2,300 person organization which provides government and commercial clients with advanced modeling, simulation and training solutions.

Prior to joining SAIC, Tip served in the U.S. Air Force for 28 years, retiring as a Brigadier General and Deputy Assistant Secretary of Defense for European and NATO Policy.  Earlier assignments included Vice Commander of the Air Intelligence Agency, NATO Staff Officer, and numerous command and senior staff assignments.  Mr. Osterthaler is a Command Pilot, having accumulated over 3,200 hours of flying time in fighter aircraft including multiple models of the F-4 Phantom II and the F-15 Eagle.

 Tip holds a BS in Economics from the U.S. Air Force Academy and an MBA from Texas A&M University. He is also a graduate of Harvard University’s Senior Executives in National Security Program as well as their National and International Security Management course, the Royal College of Defence Studies in the United Kingdom, the Air War College, and the Marine Corps Command and Staff College.

David S. Jackson - Chief Operating Officer

A retired U.S. Army colonel, Dave Jackson has spent his civilian career in systems, business development, aerospace and national security assignments with ANSER and Science Applications International Corp (SAIC) both in Northern Virginia. Most recently, Dave has served as the Chief of Staff of the National Security Solutions Operation and Director of SAIC’s Threat Reduction Support Center.

His 30 year military career included tours of duty in Germany, Korea and Vietnam, as well as a professorship at the U.S. Military Academy at West Point. Dave holds a B.S. from the U.S.M.A. and an M.S. in Nuclear Science and Engineering from the University of Michigan.

James Scheimer - Chief Technology Officer

Joining AGS in 2007, James Scheimer was most recently Vice President and Senior Scientist for Systems Engineering in the Office of Technology, directing the development of tools for the execution of large enterprise and system solutions programs at Science Applications International Corporation (SAIC).

Starting at the Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory in 1978, Mr. Scheimer’s assignments have involved treaty verification, research, system architecture, standards based systems engineering process development, and project management of highly complex operations for diverse U.S. government customers such as Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency, the National Guard, the Defense Threat Reduction Agency, Defense Nuclear Agency and the Department of Energy.

Jim holds both a B.S. and M.S. in Physics and Geophysics, respectively, from Stanford University and a Ph.D. in Seismology from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.

Robert Demers -- Senior Vice President

Bringing decades of experience, his counsel is instrumental as AGS looks to reinforce its position as the leading provider of complete, innovative satcom solutions to defense and civilian government agencies. Most recently Mr. Demers served as Vice President of government solutions for Inmarsat, where he established the Washington D.C. office and was responsible for the full range of North American commercial development and government relations.

In addition to his work with Inmarsat, Demers was general manager of global government services at ICO Global Communications, Inc., a Mobile Satellite Service (MSS) company that was later acquired by Craig McCaw. Demers spent 22 years in the U.S. Army, serving in a variety of capacities including service as a combat helicopter pilot, an Aviation Unit Commander and as Army liaison to the U.S. Senate.

He is a graduate of Saint Anselm College in Manchester, New Hampshire, as well as a graduate of the U.S. Air Command and Staff College in Montgomery, Alabama.

David Codacovi - Vice President, Sales

David Codacovi leads the company's Sales efforts for the Bandwidth and Custom  Network Solutions product lines. Throughout his 25 year career, Mr. Codacovi has held multiple leadership positions within the satellite industry including iDirect and Loral Skynet.   In his current position, Dave and his experienced team are focused on providing bandwidth and custom network solutions to the Department of Defense, Intelligence Communities, Federal and  State Agencies.  Dave is also concentrating his efforts on developing business opportunities with Industry Partners such Defense Contractors, Carriers, Integrators and Technology Partners.

Rick Minter - Vice President and Chief Engineer

With over 27 years of experience in Engineering and Operations, Mr. Minter is responsible for all aspects of satellite and terrestrial network solutions design and implementation.  Mr. Minter has held many executive positions over the past 15 years, to include Vice President of Teleport Operations and Managed Services Engineering at SES Americom, Vice President of Engineering and Operations at Verestar, Vice President Network Services for XO Communications and Vice President of Global Network Operations and Engineering at Infonet Services Corporation ( BT).  Mr Minter also was Senior Manager of Strategic Accounts Implementation for MCI and was Deputy Director of the FAA LINCS Project as well as Skyline VSAT .  

Mr. Minter is currently pursuing his MBA at Averett University, has completed a certificate program in International Business from Pepperdine University and has a BSEE from the University of Georgia..
